sure that if you
searched the world over, you wouldn't find many places where students
with as disparate interests as art, monkeys, and engineering can live
in harmony. Fortunately, there is at least one such place.
Welcome to Technology House. Seven years ago two Brown
undergrads founded Tech House on the principle that students who are
enthusiastic about science and technology ought to have a
home for themselves at Brown. Over time, Tech House has evolved from being a
haven for a handful of hackers to a dynamic house with members whose
interests run the full range of the academic and extracurricular
Contrary to popular belief, Tech House
is home to many people who aren't CS and engineering concentrators.
Our members study biology, political science, religious studies and
projects, the focal point of the Tech House experience, reflect this
variety. Recent projects include a Macquarium, a Pyrophone, a MAME
(Multi-Arcade Machine Emulator) Cabinet, and our very own Techhouse Signal
(nicknamed the THignal). We provide money, support,
guidance, and manpower for the ideas that our members come up with, and
there are no schemes too wild for consideration (as we've proven to
ourselves time and time again).
