Ramat Gan is a neighborhood just outside Tel Aviv where my aunt Ala Brosh lives. "Ramat Gan" means "Hill Park" even though the land is remarkably flat in comparison to Jerusalem. Ala is the daughter of my great grandmother's brother, I believe. She came to Israel with him when she was four (after WWII) and has been living here ever since as a nurse in Tel Aviv.
